This book is about the Computer Clubhouse, a concept and physical location that encourages kids to see themselves as capable, imaginative, and critical learners. Young people’s social lives have mostly gone online, and involvement in the online world has become a crucial component of young people’s identities. The Computer Clubhouse has a significant impact on global after-school learning environments as well as on local urban neighborhoods. With more than 100 clubhouses operating successfully worldwide, this model has had exceptional success scaling up.
