Earth Clock

Earth Clock is an inventive and detailed way of telling time! Developed by Arjan Dikhoff, it uses an overhead view of Earth to display the day/night timeline around the world. Instead of numbers, it uses maps to show areas in darkness or light.

As if a physical manifestation of an ever-ticking planetary clock, views from above rotate like an analog timepiece to represent our planet’s permanent state of movement and change. For those who find traditional clocks boring, this remarkable program will keep you captivated as you track the days in new and exciting ways!

It reminded me of Dutch artist Maarten Baas‘s “Real-Time: Sweeper’s Clock” project!
