Cheetahs on the Edge

Watching a cheetah running in slow motion is mesmerizing! On the face of the world, cheetahs are the quickest runners on the planet. Combining the resources of National Geographic Magazine and the Cincinnati Zoo and the talents of an exceptional crew, the Nat Geo Team photographed these amazing cats in a way that has never been done before in the history of photography.

In order to record every element of the cheetah’s movement as it reached high speeds of more than 60 miles per hour, the crew used a Phantom camera filming at 1200 frames per second while zooming beside it.
