A well known proof attributed to Archimedes states: when height equals diameter, the volume of a sphere plus the volume of a cone equals the volume of a cylinder. This led Rod Bogart to create a three chamber hourglass to physically demonstrate it. This brief talk will show the resulting hourglass and a short discussion of issues resolved to create a real world demonstration of the proof.
