The Subtraction in the War Machine

The movie “The Warmachine” with Brad Pit has some math in it. It would be quite a funny movie if it were not about the severe and touchy topic. This is probably the reason why the film was not that well-received yet. Still, it contains some more in-depth insight into those wars. The comic scene with Brad Pitt lecturing about 10-2=20 illustrates the mix of humor and insight well. One also sees that infamous Powerpoint slide from which Stanley McCrystal once famously said, “If I understand this slide, then we will have won the war!” The movie also shows a picture of politics and how its possible to get sacked if not showing enough respect. It also is interesting as one of the first larger movies produced by Netflix.
