The journey to the universe is made up of the interweaving of scientific discoveries and the humanities, including history, philosophy, art, and religion. This course uses the Emmy Award-winning film-Journey to the Universe, and a textbook published by Yale University Press as the main teaching materials.
The journey explores the evolution of the universe, which is like a set of wonderful processes based on association, independence and evolution. It takes us to re-examine the dynamic interaction between the galaxy, the earth, life and human society. It explores our understanding of the evolutionary process and its enlightenment to humans and the ecological environment.
Therefore, this travel course is a fusion of natural sciences and humanities. This journey is advanced in the form of an epic narration, rather than telling a series of facts that follow natural science. This will change our perception and allow us to bring ourselves into the narration. Through this sense of substitution, we can better understand the complexity and beauty of this series of processes, such as self-organized evolution, natural selection, evolution, collaboration, and co-evolution. When we discovered and understood these intricate evolutionary processes, we suddenly discovered that the earth we live on is at an important turning point in its own history, which is complicated but beautiful.
